So many Hair Styles to choose from.

Which one will suit you?

Hair frames the face and accentuates our natural beauty. Whilst choosing various hair styles we have to highlight the attractive features and downplay the negative ones.

Here are some great tips for choosing various prospective hair styles that would suit you perfectly:

Pull back your hair or clip them so your face is cleared of any hair. Now measure across the following facial points:

  1. Across your forehead measured between the widest points.
  2. Measure the distance from one temple to the other.
  3. Distance between cheekbones at the widest points.
  4. Jaw at the widest point.
  5. Vertically from the top of your hairline to the chin

Now with these measurements you can establish your face shape as follows:

Oval - This shape is one and a half times longer than its measurement across the temples. Practically all hair styles will suite this face shape.

Round - The width would be approximately the same as the length. Now you would want to make your face seem a bit longer. Added volume at the top and no volume on the sides would have you easily achieve this.

Square Measurements - from top to bottom are relatively the same. The length will be the same as the width.

Triangular (Pear shaped) - The forehead is narrower than the jaw line. Creating perceived width at the forehead can be achieved by adding volume to the top and temples. A fringe is also a good option.

Oblong - Face shape is longer than it is wide. Minimize volume at the top and add some volume to the sides, although hair should not be longer than your chin line.

Diamond - More width at the cheekbones and both the forehead and jaw line are narrower. Increase the width at the jaw line and the forehead with added volume and keep the cheekbone line close to your head.

Inverted Triangle - Your jaw line is narrow, the cheekbones are wider and your forehead being the widest measurement. It is similar to a heart shape. A fringe is a possibility. Minimize the volume at the forehead and at the top, gradually increasing in volume to your jaw line and neck area.

Now you should be able to choose the right hair styles to suit you. Short haircuts are ideal for people with fine textured hair. Choose and try different products that will suite your hair texture.

A few tips to mull over when accentuating your look based around the following physical features:

  • Wide forehead - direct your hair towards your forehead. A fringe is perfect.
  • Narrow forehead - direct your hair away from your forehead.
  • Close-set eyes - direct hair away at the temples.
  • Wide-set eyes - a fringe with a bit of volume and add volume at the top.
  • Crooked nose - asymmetrical partings and styles.
  • Flat nose - direct hair away from the face and use center partings.
  • Long nose - create an illusion of a wider face, by directing your hair away from your face. Avoid using center partings or volume on top.
